Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Cochin

Greeted by our representative at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Cochin, a port town with a rich history dating back centuries, has been known as the spice coast of India, drawing traders and invaders from around the world. Cochin promises intriguing glimpses into history and culture. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, and you will stay overnight in Cochin. (35 Kms/1 Hr drive)

Day 2 – Cochin

Embark on a sightseeing expedition of Cochin to discover its captivating attractions, including the Jewish Synagogue in the locally known Jew Town, the St. Francis Church (India’s oldest European church), the Santa Cruz Basilica constructed by the Portuguese in 1557, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market, and the 15th-century Chinese fishing nets, believed to have been brought by Chinese traders. In the evening, witness the renowned dance drama of Kerala, Kathakali, characterized by compelling storytelling, elaborate costumes, and intricate makeup. Overnight stay in Cochin. (Note: The Jewish Synagogue and Palace remain closed every Friday and Saturday)

Day 3 – Cochin

(Visit to Guruvayoor Temple) -2 Hrs drive /Way Following an early breakfast, embark on a drive to visit the renowned Shri Krishna Temple in Guruvayoor. Subsequently, return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Cochin.

Day 4 – Munnar

After breakfast, embark on a 130-kilometer, 4-hour drive to Munnar, a picturesque hill station situated at an elevation of 1600 meters above sea level. Once the summer retreat for the former British administration in South India, Munnar still exudes its colonial charm and is renowned for its privately-owned tea plantations. The landscape features expansive estates, rolling hills, glistening waterfalls, quaint hamlets, and undulating valleys, making Munnar an ideal holiday destination. Along the way, take in the beauty of Cheyyapara and Valara waterfalls. Upon reaching Munnar, check into your hotel and relax. The remainder of the day is yours to leisurely soak in the ambiance of Munnar. Overnight stay in Munnar. (130 Kms/4 Hrs drive)

Day 5 – Munnar

After breakfast at 9 AM, you have the opportunity to engage in sightseeing in Munnar. The itinerary covers Tea Gardens, the Tea Museum (closed on Mondays), Blossom Garden, Eco Point, and the Mattupetty Dam. Additionally, you can opt for boating on the lake. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 6 – Madurai

Following breakfast, drive to Madurai. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and freshen up. Subsequently, embark on a sightseeing tour of Madurai. Explore the Thirumalai Naicker Palace, the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, and witness the evening pooja ceremony. Overnight stay at the hotel. (160 Kms/4 Hrs drive)

Day 7 – Thekkady

Embark on a journey to Periyar/Thekkady, renowned for its rolling hills, spice plantations, and opportunities to spot elephants. As one of India’s 27 wildlife reserves, the Periyar valley in Thekkady holds the distinction of being the oldest. Check into your hotel and indulge in a spice plantation tour, where the captivating aromas of cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and nutmeg will entice you. Gain insights into the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of these spices before they reach the market. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind, and you will stay overnight at Thekkady. (140 Kms/4 Hrs drive)

 

Day 8 – Thekkady

In the morning, embark on a boat ride on Lake Periyar, offering opportunities for bird and wildlife observation, with the chance to spot antelopes, buffaloes, boars, and elephants. Engage in activities such as an elephant ride and a jeep safari. Later in the evening, transfer to the theater to witness a traditional cultural and art show. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy leisure time. Overnight stay at Thekkady

Day 9 – Alleppey

Embark on another morning drive, this time to Alleppey, often referred to as the Venice of the East, known for its meandering canals and an intricate network of backwaters. Upon arrival, check in to a traditional Kerala houseboat that will guide you through a captivating tour of the backwaters. Your overnight accommodation will be aboard the houseboat. (140 Kms /4 Hrs drive)

Day 10 – Kovalam

After breakfast, embark on a drive to the stunning crescent beach of Kovalam, renowned as one of the top 100 beaches globally. Along the way, make a stop to visit the famous Jatayu Earth Centre. Upon reaching Kovalam, check into the hotel, and after a relaxing day at the beach, return to the hotel for an overnight stay. (160 Kms/4.5 Hrs drive)

 

Day 11 – Kovalam

In the morning, after breakfast at 9 AM, you have the opportunity to explore the sights of Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. Highlights include the 260-year-old Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple, the Puthan Maliga Palace Museum (a 200-year-old palace of the Travancore Maharajas), the Napier Museum (featuring an electric display of bronzes, zoo, temple carts, ivory carvings, etc.), and the Sri Chitra Art Gallery. The afternoon is free for leisure on the beach. In the evening, return to Kovalam and stay overnight.(Note: The Horse Palace, Napier Museum, Zoo, and the Sri Chitra Art Gallery are closed on Mondays.

Day 12 – Departure

Departure Transfer to Trivandrum Airport/Railway station for onward journey. 30 Minute drive

Pickup/End Location

Transfers are included in the cost of the holiday, you will be met from your flight and taken to the hotel in Cochin. Likewise, drop-off to the airport is included and is to Trivandrum airport for your onward travel.
